I am able to come along when I don't have a large pile of previous client editing that I urgently need to do. This goes hand in hand with when I have event clients that book me in for the weekend, per se such as: Awards Nights, Birthday Parties, Weddings and so forth.

I then go rent out my most favourite lens and camera body from Topic Rentals, use them for the Friday night photo session, or Saturday/Sunday day sessions, then proceed to use the gear for the hockey games in the evening :)

And then just doing life in general, cause life really be throwing unexpected things at you.

Well, lovely question you have there! I like to put my good ol' 5D Mark 4 + f2.8 24-70mm lens on my left side which I save for the signing table or fan interactions or if players slam into the boards and the action is happening right in front of me, I use this relatively wider lens here :)

My most used camera and lens set up would be the ever so gorgeous Canon R6 Mark 3 or Canon R1 paired with a 70-200mm f2.8 lens for those zoomed in shots of players, or fans that are way too far away from me, to the point that I can't reach from the outer boundaries of the rink.

Nope ~ That is not my full-time job. I'm in the field of e-commerce, sales and operations which sometimes includes the occasional weekend. Photography is just my pick me up so I have a social life outside of work hahaahh I also became a hockey fan since 10/08/2025, it was the first ever game I watched and it's honestly so strikingly fast paced! It's so cool that the players are multitasking and also speed gliding across the ice so quickly that they literally look like they are flying :)

Yes of course! South Island is definitely on my bucketlist - I'd need a sponsor though cause with all that back and forth flying, I don't think my bank acc can handle it, especially since by that time, I'd probably had spent most of my savings on purchasing my fave camera + lens combo. I can also hop on a plane to Australia as well if required of me to do so :)

I started my photography biz in 2017, at the start of my second year of uni. My initial sessions sprung from uni club events held at bars and nightclubs. As social as it was, after 1-2 of those I realised that it was not suitable for me to do it long-term. I'm more a Family Portraits type of person who enjoys being a part of Weddings/Engagements as well as snapping pics at Birthday Parties.

I can navigate a corporate function without a run-sheet no problem, but this new field I'm headed into, I know that every single sporting event has its own rules, routines, and different way of doing things.

It'd be kinda cool to be amongst a community that you never thought you could be a part of.
